Flis stands for a static-looking, but modularly implemented table system. Table legs and desktop are attached to each other by detachable semi-finished connectors. Different leg lengths and desktop formats are compatible and extendable in length. The modules can be combined with each other and, depending on the situation, can be rearranged without tools. They are designed to adapt to the living situation and grow over time.
TABLE MODULES
Behind the idea is a service that includes that the tables are not only produced locally, but can also be maintained or reworked by the artisan businesses. Customers have many options and concrete contact persons. The craft must reposition itself for the future and could gain an advantage over larger furniture manufacturers through this possibility.
In this way, the children’s painting table becomes a desk or the individual desk becomes an office landscape for the growing company. Future needs can thus be better addressed and there is more certainty for a circular action of the products and materials to counteract waste and short-livedness.
BUTTERFLY CONNECTOR
The basic guiding principle of the table is its demountability. The legs are slid on via a concealed wedge connection and connected to the tabletop with a positive and non-positive fit. This happens without tools and can be released at any time.
ECOLOGICAL
The tabletop and feet are designed to be minimally invasive. They are made largely from renewable raw materials and have been designed to be robust and durable. Few individual parts and large plate dimensions, which only take „material damage“ through the screwed-on wedge connectors, can be used as new construction material even after the demise of the tabletop. Recycling or downcycling thus does not necessarily have to take place.
ECONOMIC
Users have the possibility to convert different table tops and leg heights in a short time for their own current needs. Because it can be disassembled, larger quantities of tables can be stacked, stored and transported in a space-saving manner. The reduced weight of the table allows for easy relocation. The inexpensive production of a table lowers the purchase price for a comparatively high-quality piece of furniture.
AESTHETIC
At first glance, the detachable system does not reveal that it is designed for this purpose. The appearance suggests a solid, robust table frame. In any constellation, a valuable appearance concept is created. An update option for the near and distant future makes it possible to select sizes and shapes according to one’s own needs, to follow trends and to use an exchange offer of the tops. Legs and top are independent of each other, customers can also purchase only them and receive assembly instructions for the wedge connectors. This gives them the opportunity to act individually and thus be able to draw new emotional value from their table through their own creation.
PRIVATE
Painting table for the children over time develops into a desk. It grows in height and width. Additives for storage space should provide further flexibility at the table.
Likewise, the kitchen table grows in size. For events with extended family, it can either be expanded or replaced. Round and square variants allow for a wide variety of communication constellations.
Small living spaces are usually very nested and it is difficult to relocate larger furniture through doorways into other rooms. Because the system is detachable, it still works well with larger table dimensions of up to two meters. So a table can also be used for the patio, possibly with a different table top option.
COMMUNITY
Community tables stimulate exchange among users. What is needed is a place where everyone can meet and find space. The number of people often varies here, as visitors from outside are also co-users and are brought along by residents. A simple and quick table extension offers great advantages here. The tables are lightweight compared to extendable extension solutions and are easier to reposition in the room.
A community uses a certain number of tables, usually at a height of about 75cm. However, at events, other heights are needed for standing or sitting. By repurposing table tops and legs, standing and lounging areas can be repurposed to create a new atmosphere.
OFFICE
Office spaces are usually clean and neutrally designed, so do not distract from the work and increase the productivity of workers. Often, the well-being of workers suffers as a result, and they can create a little atmosphere and personality through their own design, such as photos or decoration at the workplace. The solid wood frames and linoleum decor convey friendliness and warmth through their colors, shapes and feel. Nevertheless, they do not impose, they are intended to take the tension at work and provide a clear head.
FAIR
Exhibition stands attract with their products and a valuable appearance. Natural colors and materials are becoming increasingly popular. Products should be sustainable. The table system is an ideal support for the presentation. With its friendly appearance, it carries this idea throughout the entire design concept. The tables are usually assembled and disassembled by two people. The table tops are stored separately from the legs, leaning upright in a ladder truck or lying on a pallet or transport box with rollers. Feet and frames are assembled in a separate box to save space. Frame and leg are also separable without tools and can be stowed separately if necessary.
Livingline
In the course of the development period, two table shapes were created. Livingline corresponds to a more homely character and is intended by the rounded table ends, to loosen up the situation of the „board“ and provide for a more detached conversation.
Officeline
Officeline is intended to solve the rigor of the workplace and convey friendliness and openness through the rounded corners.
